Director of Mechanical Engineering | Complex Electromechanics | Boston
Boston, MA US
An early-stage company at the intersection of connected technology and surgical robotics is looking for an experienced engineering director to join their team! As the Director of Mechanical Engineering, you will be guiding this device manufacturer on multiple fronts as they develop their complex surgical system.
In this role, you will be using your wealth of experience developing complex electromechanical medical devices to manage an energetic team of mechanical engineers. If you have strong hands-on full product lifecycle development experience and are confident managing a team with a blend of personalities and experience levels, you’ll feel right at home in this role. You should expect a fast-paced, startup-style environment here, and be comfortable matching the energy level of the existing team members. This should be a very personally rewarding role if you enjoy taking products from concept to completion, working on truly innovative technology, and mentoring and guiding engineers.
To succeed in this role, you will need at least 15 years of experience developing complex electromechanical devices. These years do not have to be entirely medical device experience, a blend of medical device and other industries will work, but you should have at least 5 years developing class II or III electromechanical devices. We’ll be interested in talking about products that you managed from design to completion and hearing about your management and mentorship styles, as you will be managing a growing, high energy team of engineers. We are providing relocation assistance to the Boston area.
