Job Description

General Manager | Medical Device Contract Manufacturing | Midwest

In this position, you must be located in or willing to relocate to the Midwest.

This is your opportunity to be the catalyst for growth with a global medical device contract manufacturer. This General Manager role is open due to the previous manager being promoted into a Vice President position, making it an excellent choice if you are a growth oriented medical device operations leader who wants to grow into executive management.

In this position, you will be responsible for a multi-site contract manufacturing business that services the medical device industry. Your time will be split between nurturing and developing your already talented management team, providing best-in-class service to our existing customers, and monitoring industry trends to keep our client’s already impressive track record of growth.

To succeed in this role, you should have proven experience managing multiple site locations with a high number of direct reports and P&L responsibility in medical device manufacturing. A major plus would be previous experience “digitizing” your processes and businesses, so show your passion for new technologies or trends. Also, your previous experience cultivating a supportive, learning-oriented culture will be key. You will be expected to set your own ambitious goals for this role, so a self-starting attitude is a must.

What you will be doing:

  • Managing the day to day operations of a multi-site contract manufacturing business with 250+ employees.
  • Maintaining a long term, growth-oriented mindset by attempting to stay ahead of industry trends and positioning your business unit for the future.
  • Building on our client’s world class culture by identifying key talent within the company and growing those individuals.

What you must have:

  • At least 10 years of experience in medical device operations experience with at least some P&L responsibility.
  • Strong talent development experience, with a passion for developing high performing teams.
  • Medical device assembly, plastics, or injection molding experience.

Compensation: Highly competitive, but ultimately depends on your experience.
Travel: Minimal
Years of Experience: 10+ in Medical Device Operations
Degree: BS/BA Required, MBA Preferred
Location: Midwestern US
