Position Overview

The Business Development Manager will leverage current, active professional relationships within the MedTech and Healthcare industry along with their contract manufacturing and product development knowledge, to position organization’s broad capabilities in DFM, development, and technology services. This Director of Business Development will initially be the primary and first in market business development lead in Europe due to organizations expansion plans. You will have strong autonomy, and the ability to create, and accelerate a growing market, as well as the possibility for future advancement within success.

 

Our client is a leading multi-national contract manufacturing organization, with an entrepreneurial position within the company, now backed by a large multi-national company with advanced full service engineering design, development and manufacturing expertise for complex disposable, plastics, and metals. Their broad customer base and reinvestment in capabilities with in the business give them a strong competitive edge to accelerate current growth trends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide sales and business development leadership as the first lead in Europe Market for a within the contract manufacturing medical device industry to grow business opportunities and develop existing relationships and accounts.
  • Work closely with the engineering and product procurement staff to support a wide range of business development activities to support product development and procurement
  • Develop and execute transactions to support the business by performing market analysis, identifying targets, presenting the opportunity and structuring and negotiating deals
  • Work with Vice President Sales and Marketing to develop strategies for marketing and selling, client identification, client screening
  • Develop new customer relationships with primary decision makers.
  • Define EU Market highest priorities and strategize entry plan.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of successful track record of business development and sales experience with a contract manufacturing organization in the medical device market.
  • Strong technical background oriented toward contract manufacturing.
  • National or Global Contacts with Decision Makers in the OEM Medical Device Industry
  • Powerful presentation abilities working with Engineers, Senior-Level executives, including Quality, Product Development
  • Exceptional Technical sales background.
  • Ability to forge new markets and develop strong pipeline with existing customers for future expansions.
  • Strong balance of “Hunter-Farmer Mentality” with strong emphasis on new business development.

***A base-line proficiency in engineering is necessary to succeed in this upstream business development role. This is a high profile, high level sales position for a respected company with global range and influence, and you must have strong network within the medical device market, as well as measurable level of success selling contract manufacturing services.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Preferred), Life Sciences, or Business
  • Master’s degree (Preferred)
