Cardiology (Well-funded Disruptive Technology Start-up)

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President – Business Development, the Director of Market Development will develop launch & commercialization strategies which drive successful market adoption of the most effective screening device for heart disease which will save lives.

This Director of Market Development role requires strong project management and presentation skills in sales, marketing, business development, distribution and end “consumer” education outreach to drive expansion and adoption of a product which provides proprietary informatics to assists physicians in identifying the presence of heart disease prior to an adverse cardiac event.  This is a global role working with cross-functional teams in Field Sales, Distribution, and Health Systems and will involve heavy international travel.


Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and Manage region Exhibit Strategy and Calendar – attend meetings, trade shows, congresses, etc. and lead remote training and special events.
  • Implement best practice distributor sales and marketing training, mentoring, and effective sales education and use.
  • Generate sustained market adoption by engaging, enrolling, and educating Distributors, National Corporate Accounts, Integrated Delivery Network Health Systems (IDN’s), and Physicians within region
  • Develop and implement physician referral strategy, education resources and engagement strategies to support within region.
  • Develop and implement patient awareness, education, web and social media resources and engagement strategies for Direct to Consumer (DTC) and key patient advocacy groups 
  • Work with distribution partners to help create and execute relevant marketing communication strategies to ensure high impact brand messaging.
  • Support CRM systems and processes to update, monitor and track the success of strategic sales, distribution partners, marketing programs, initiatives and investments 

Position Requirements

  • 3-7 plus years of combined medical device market development experience required in the following areas:
    • Progressive regional training and education within pedigree medical device (start-up environments preferred)
    • Development and Management of Event Strategy and Calendar including trade shows, meetings, conferences, trainings, etc.
    • Disruptive medical device innovation go-to-market commercialization experience
    • Ability to create strategic-big picture sales and marketing initiatives and drive tactical actionable results
    • Strong – persuasive presentation skills, and market development experience educating high performance teams with signature authority, vision and accountable for results
    • Understands complex innovative- disruptive niche technology sales and marketing
    • Cardiology or patient diagnostics market experience slightly preferred, demonstrable success in “starting from scratch” and building successful region growth

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors in Business or Health Sciences

Position Reports To:   Senior Vice President – Business Development
Compensation:   Base: $130,000 - $145,000  plus bonus plus equity in early stage company
Travel:   60%, International
