Job Description

Opportunity to lead a company's growth with an innovative platform technology that has recently gone public. In this role, you will provide critical insight into company operations through financial planning and analysis to contribute to defining strategic objectives, reporting directly to the CEO, and partnering with the Board of Directors. Our client is seeking a proven leader with a strong background in leading a financial team, with experience in a publicly traded company. The ideal candidate is strategic and action-oriented, they are comfortable with working on setting objectives with a leadership team, and jumping in to get a project done with their own team. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Fifteen years of experience in a financial role with at least five years of experience working at a public company. 
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, planning, reporting, compliance, governance, and financial controls.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, CPA or MBA preferred. 
  • Experience maintaining financial reporting standards.
  • Preferred experience:
  • Working in a product design and manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to optics and/or medical device.
  • Experience with both small and larger organizations.
  • FAR accounting.
  • Mergers & acquisitions
  • Regulatory requirements for medical and defense / aerospace (i.e. ISO, FDA, ITAR, EAR)

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the finance and accounting departments with a hands-on approach, driving engagement to support company goals. 
  • Ensure complete, timely and accurate public company financial and other SEC filings.
  • Provide financial planning and analysis of company operations to senior management and Board of Directors.
  • Strategize with the CEO and Board of Directors to establish a strategic vision for the company.
  • Partner with the CEO to communicate with company shareholders and investment community.
  • Ensure strong cash and capital management and availability.
  • Establish and monitor an annual budget and allocations to departments and corporate activities.
  • Work with the COO and leadership to establish and track KPIs across departments and divisions.
  • Integrate accounting functions of future acquisitions. 

 

Compensation: Competitive base, bonus and equity based on experience

Travel: Minimal

Years of Experience: 15+ years in financial work

Degree: BA/BS, MBA or CPA strongly preferred

Location: Massachusetts
