Preferred Qualifications:  

• This is a unique opportunity flexible to varying levels of experience. 
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for a Mechanical Engineer. 
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer. 
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for a Principal Mechanical Engineer. 
• BS required; MS preferred.  
• Design experience in heavily regulated industries like medical or military.  
• Previous experience working with a broad range of metal and optical component fabrication and metrology methods. 
• Required skills including but not limited to: 
• Solid modeling CAD tools specifically either ProEngineer or SolidWorks. 
• Deep understanding of design dimensioning and tolerancing methods and conventions. 
• Fundamental modeling and analytical understanding of static and dynamic mechanical properties. 
• Specification of electro-mechanical mechanisms and components. 

Responsibilities:  

• Opto-mechanical and mechanical concept development. 
• System architecture design. 
• System trade-off analysis. 
• Requirements definition and flow down. 
• Test and evaluation of mechanical performance parameters at both the component and system level. 
• Utilizing outstanding communication skills to convey technical ideas to both the customer community and engineering peers. 

Travel: Minimal
