Manager of Software Engineering - Neurology - Raleigh NC - 1584698
Our client is dedicated to enhancing lives through therapeutic technologies, including the groundbreaking treatment of mental health and pain management. Join their innovative team as a Software Engineering Director in North Carolina where you'll oversee software development, documentation, and testing to ensure compliance with medical device regulations, contributing to our mission of improving lives worldwide.
What you will be doing:
- Implement design controls in software development
- Supervise software development contractors, including those for cloud architecture
- Formulate software development plans and ensure adherence to IEC 62304
- Apply FDA cybersecurity guidance throughout the product lifecycle
- Actively participate in software and firmware development, unifying codebase for medical devices
- Lead code reviews to ensure code quality and alignment with standards
- Generate and evaluate code unit tests to verify software functionality
- Apply risk management principles per IEC 14971 throughout development
- Develop comprehensive software requirements to guide the process
- Create software architecture and design documentation for project clarity
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in software development and medical device innovation with leadership involvement
- Technical proficiency in C, C++, Python programming, etc.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and continuous delivery practices
- Exceptional communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and modern software development practices
- Proven track record of successful, on-schedule software project delivery
- Previous exposure to startups or entrepreneurial ventures
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

Degree: BA/BS Bachelor’s degree.
